Dr. Feridun Hamdullahpur appointed to the Order of Canada
Dr. Feridun Hamdullahpur, Chairman of the Board of AMTD IDEA Group (NYSE: AMTD; SGX: HKB), has been appointed to the "Order of Canada" for his groundbreaking researches in mechanical and mechatronics engineering, as well as his visionary leadership in academia. Dr. Hamdullahpur is among the 99 new appointments to the Order of Canada announced by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada.
The Order of Canada is a Canadian state order and the second-highest honour for merit in the system of orders, decorations, and medals of Canada, after the Order of Merit. To coincide with the centennial of Canadian Confederation, the order was established in 1967 as a fellowship that recognizes the outstanding merit or distinguished service of Canadians who make a major difference to Canada through lifelong contributions in every field of endeavour, as well as the efforts to make the world better by their actions.
